If you want to have a good time and impress your friends, set up a fake identity and use it to create a Flickr account where you post badly photoshopped pictures of your boss engaged in depraved acts. Er, I mean, take a bartending course.

Back in the late 90s, I took a three-session bartending course and it was well worth the $120 or so that I think I paid for it. The first session was ‘classic’ drinks: martinis, gimlets, whiskey sours and the like. The second session was alcoholic co-ed stuff like Alabama slammers, Long Island iced tea, and drinks named after various sex acts. The third session was practice from sessions 1 & 2, plus general bartending lore and secrets for mixing drinks quickly and accurately.

I’m not a big drinker, and when I do drink it’s usually either beer or Scotch and soda, but it’s kind of cool to be able to whip up a pitcher of homemade frozen margaritas or a pink squirrel if someone happens to want it.

1/2 shot Blue Curaco
1/2 shot rum
1/2 shot tequila
1/2 shot triple sec
1/2 shot vodka
splash cherry brandy
orange juice
sours mix

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add liquor, fill with 1/2 orange juice & half sours mix. Cherry garnish.

1 C. Candy + 1 Jar Vodka + a Few Days = Candy Infused Vodka

Cherry Sour and Peach Gummy vodka – cause I’m classy like that. For Luis and Brian’s cocktail party. The peach gummy one was actually kind of good.
